We’ve already recommended Wes Anderson: The Archives at the Design Museum, but little did we know there was also a The Grand Budapest Hotel-inspired afternoon tea to enjoy thereafter (or before, whatever your whim). Inspired by the meticulous universe of Wes Anderson, this is storytelling on a plate. Expect pastel precision, symmetrical delights, and a world where every crumb feels considered. One does not simply attend, one checks in, briefly, to a perfectly composed fiction.

Find your groove...
Ten days into April, and spring has found its rhythm. Evenings stretch, conversations linger, and London is abound with plenty to do indoors and out. From festivals to fashion, gardens to games, it’s time to let curiosity take the lead and immerse yourself in the buzz, the bloom, and the bustle of all the Big Smoke has to offer. Here’s our cultural diary, if you fancy a bit of a dilly-dally.
Brick Lane Jazz Festival
The Brick Lane Jazz Festival returns for its fifth year, and even if you’re not a “jazz person”, this event has plenty to offer. It’s about energy, community, and the thrill of improvisation, where rhythms bend and melodies wander. With artists such as Yoni Mayraz, ZENA, and Tomorrow’s Warriors shaping the line-up, you can expect the unexpected, and perhaps find your own groove.
Cecily Brown: Picture Making
British painter Cecily Brown’s latest collection was inspired by Kensington Gardens, so it’s only right that it will be showing at the Serpentine Galleries. Both instinctive and intricately composed, Brown’s vibrant colours and brushstrokes promise to pull you in. You may well find yourself hunting for meaning in the layers of her work, so choose a pretty day to visit and allow yourself time to linger.
Schiaparelli: Fashion Becomes Art
at V&A
Until 8 November 2026
Until 8 November 2026
We will not be missing Schiaparelli: Fashion Becomes Art at the V&A. We imagine it will feel less like an exhibition and more like stepping into a particularly well-dressed dream. Elsa Schiaparelli, alongside the surreal provocations of Salvador Dalí, delivers a world where wit and craftsmanship dance in perfect sync. As the UK’s first showcase of Schiaparelli’s work, it promises bold and unconventional ideas, beautifully executed with artistry, humour, and wit.

London Games Festival
The London Games Festival sits right at the intersection of art and technology, a space alive with experimentation. On our hit list is a live, interactive exchange with Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley, a creator of immersive digital worlds that centre Black trans lives, and Symone, a queer interdisciplinary performer, director, and alternative game designer.
The whole festival is interactive, so participation is not encouraged so much as inevitable.
