Design Daze: May Events 2026

Design Daze Out: May Events 2026

This May, we have a proposition for you. Use that bank holiday lull to break routine, shed stale thinking, and move through London - rich with festivals, ideas, and experiences worth sinking your teeth into. From asking whether creativity still has a pulse to an evening in the company of Count Dracula HERSELF, consider this your invitation to feel a little more alive...

Clerkenwell Design Week

At Clerkenwell Design Week, streets, showrooms, and forgotten corners are reworked into a kind of open-air exhibition. We’re drawn to The Pulse of Becoming at Haberdashers’ Hall, a piece that leans into the cycles of life, death, and rebirth with a certain understated boldness.

19-21 May
Clerkenwell, London, EC1.

London Craft Week

At London Craft Week, design is caught in the act. Materials are handled, and techniques are demonstrated with the ease of long practice. There’s something disarmingly honest about watching a craftsperson work. Decades of refinement made it look almost incidental. You leave with a sharper eye, and the realisation that nothing truly well-made is ever accidental.

11-17 May
Various locations throughout London

Dracula

1 - 30 May at Noël Coward Theatre
Theatre is a place where you start to see how silence is designed by sound and tension is built with colour. The West End reimagining of Dracula starring Cynthya Erivo promises to be a fantastic show. For us, it's all about the atmosphere. We anticipate shadows becoming part of the set, light used like material, and costumes that signal decay and seduction.

D&AD Festival

Is Creativity Dead or Alive? The D&AD’s provocation feels pointed in all the right ways. Is technology a thief, churning out creativity and stealing our jobs? Or are we stuck on scrolling, trading instinct and intent for inertia? Expect talks that cut clean through the noise. Less hype, less hand-wringing. More doing, and a return to the hands-on, heads-down space where ideas are made real. Tested. Pushed. Put to work.

Arrive curious; Leave restless.

19-20th May

Original Print Fair

Finally, the London Original Print Fair offers something slower, more tactile. The city’s longest-running art fair marks its 41st year, inviting us all to look closely – really closely. Prints reveal themselves in layers: ink, pressure, patience. Modern design borrows heavily from these traditions. Here, you’ll be able to trace it back to the source. We think it could be one of those places that quietly rewires the way you see design.

14-17th of May
