Design Daze: November Events 2025
Design Daze Out: November Events 2025
Inspiration often feels like the start of something. It’s forward-looking, energising, and pushes you to create. Appreciation, on the other hand, is grounding. It’s about taking the time to acknowledge what already exists – the beauty, the craft, the thought that’s gone into something. It’s the difference between chasing ideas and cherishing them.
As designers, appreciating matters just as much as curiosity. It sharpens our eye, deepens our taste, and reconnects us to the joy of design itself in all its forms, from the playful to the profound.
This November, we’re stepping out not just to be inspired, but to appreciate. Here are a few design and culture happenings in London that we’ve got on the calendar for the month.
Pictograms: Iconic Japanese Designs
Pictograms are everywhere – street signs, text messages, toilet doors, maps – and this exhibition shows how Japanese design has shaped the global visual language. From the 1964 Tokyo Olympic pictograms to emojis, discover the evolution of these universal signs through giant immersive installations.
David Hockney: Some Very, Very, Very New Paintings (not yet shown in Paris)
This show marks the gallery’s move to a new space and presents never-seen-before paintings by David Hockney, created in his London studio over the past six months. It’s a chance to appreciate the ongoing experiment in perception and colour of one of Britain’s most important living artists.
At Annely Juda Fine Art, 7 November 2025 – 28 February 2026

Small is Beautiful
A delightfully compact exhibition: artists working in any media present works no larger than 7×9 inches. It’s a quiet celebration of scale, intention, and experimentation – perfect for appreciating design in miniature.
21 November 2025 – 3 January 2026
at Flowers Gallery
London International Animation Festival 2025
A festival that blends animated art, storytelling, and design. From premieres and retrospectives to filmmaker talks and workshops, this event honours the craftsmanship of illustration, motion, and visual narrative in a creative-rich format.
