TheraTears Wins Silver at the DBA Design Effectiveness Awards

TheraTears Wins Silver

Last week in London, we took home Silver for our work on TheraTears, an eyecare brand from Prestige Consumer Healthcare. Widely regarded as one of the industry’s most rigorous benchmarks, the DBA honours design that stands up to commercial scrutiny, where creative thinking is measured not by opinion, but by performance, growth, and long-term value.

In a category awash with clinical blues and overworked jargon, we created a design that is easy on the eyes and easy to shop. Balancing clinical authority with human warmth, the design brings clarity to a complex aisle. Benefits are immediately understood, making it simpler for consumers to confidently make their choice.

Within 10 months of launch, TheraTears had risen to second place in the dry and tired eyes segment, and fifth overall in eye drops. Buyers cited the packaging as a decisive factor in listing the range, contributing to more than 11,000 listings within a year.

This marks Hunt Hanson’s second DBA win, following Gold for Freixenet Prosecco, where a distinctive diamond-inspired structure helped unlock £13.5 million in sales. The design remains on shelf, continuing to deliver.

At Hunt Hanson, brave and beautiful is just the start. Real success is measured in how a design performs and endures. TheraTears is a compelling example of that philosophy brought to life.
